What is an upright sprinkler head?

Upright fire sprinklers spray water upward to a concave deflector, producing a dome-shaped spray pattern. They install deflector-up to cover specific areas and to prevent ice and debris from collecting in the head. Upright sprinklers are installed where obstructions interfere with coverage and in dry-pipe systems facing freezing temperatures.
The upright sprinkler is uprightly installed on the water supply branch pipe. The sprinkler shape is parabolic. 80 ~ 100 of the total water is sprayed downward. At the same time, some are sprayed to the ceiling. It is suitable to be installed in places with more moving objects and prone to impact, such as warehouses. It can also be concealed on the roof in the ceiling interlayer of the room to protect the ceiling with more combustibles (for places without ceiling, when the water distribution branch pipe is arranged under the beam, it shall be upright).
This type of sprinkler has been pickled and passivated, which can give full play to the ground erosion potential of the sprinkler. Generally, thorough cleaning, including alkali cleaning and pickling, and then passivation with oxidant are required to ensure the integrity and stability of the passivation film. One of the purposes of pickling is to create favorable conditions for passivation treatment and ensure the formation of high-quality passivation film. Because a layer of surface with an average thickness of 10 microns on the sprinkler surface is corroded by pickling, and the chemical activity of the acid solution makes the dissolution rate of the defective part higher than that of other parts on the surface, pickling can make the whole surface tend to be uniform and balanced, and some hidden dangers that are easy to cause corrosion are removed. But more importantly, the corrosion resistance of the sprinkler is improved by acid pickling and passivation. Cleaning, pickling and passivation of sprinkler surface not only maximize corrosion resistance, but also prevent product pollution and obtain beauty.
